The Glenan Islands

A day in the archipelago and you’ll wonder if you were dreaming… Located about ten miles from the mainland, the Glenan Archipelago and its string of islets offer a magical show. A sun-drenched haven of peace in the middle of the ocean, the fine white sandy beaches and emerald green waters evoke the tropical islands. Seven main islands encircle the lagoon with waters of unparalleled clarity. To the east, Penfret is home to the lighthouse, a former semaphore, and the buildings of the famous nautical center; the island of Loch, the largest, recognizable by its chimney, Cigogne with its fort, Drenec, Bananec, Gueotec, and finally Saint Nicolas. On board the Glenn, Rivage, Armor, or Captain Nemo, dreams come true!

The Exploration and Underwater Vision option is the most complete. After the free stopover on Saint Nicolas Island and the guided cruise of the Glenan Archipelago, you can visit the seabed… without getting wet! Evasion to Saint-Nicolas Island

With the Getaway option you sail directly to Saint Nicolas, the main island, to spend a day or an afternoon on the beach during your stop-over. Nobody lives on the island, so you will find only two bars/restaurants and few houses. Crystal clear water, white sandy beaches: you’re in paradise! Just enjoy it.e. The island is small, so you can walk around it fairly quickly. If you don’t know the Glénan Islands, we recommend the Discover the Archipelago option, which is much more complete!

Outings Nature

With Lulu, a very experienced nature guide, you will walk along the footpath of Saint Nicolas Island to discover the natural environment and the insular habitat of the Glenan. You will observe flora such as coastal borage and sea thrift; watch for migratory birds in flight and nesting, such as oystercatchers, common terns, and European shags. You will understand the fragility of the ecosystem and become more sensitive to the nature that surrounds you.
